What We Believe

The Azle Area Ministerial Alliance believes:

In the Trinity . . . In one eternal God who exists in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. All three are equally God and are of one substance.

Matthew 28:18-19; Mark 1:10-11; 12:29; John 1:14; Acts 5:3-4; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Hebrews 1:1-3; Revelation 1:4-6.

In the Authority and Inerrancy of Scripture . . . All Scripture is inspired by God, written by men moved by the Holy Spirit and is without error in its original manuscripts. All sixty-six books of the Bible are the written Word of God, the inspired revelation of God to mankind and the supreme authority on matters of faith and practice.

Mark 12:26; 13:11; Luke 24:27, 44; John 5:39; Acts 1:16; 17:2-3; 18:28; 26:22-23; 28:23; Romans 15:4; 1 Corinthians 2:13; 10:11, 2 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Peter 1:21.

In the Full Deity and Humanity of Christ and His Substitutionary Atonement and Bodily Resurrection . . . Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He led a sinless life and willingly died on the cross as a substitute, taking upon himself the penalty for our sin. He was buried and then was physically resurrected, providing our victory over sin and death. He is now seated at the right hand of the Father as our mediator and advocate.

Leviticus 17:11; Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25; 26:28; Luke 1:30-35; John 1:1-2, 11, 18, 29; 3:16; 20:2; Acts 2:22-24; Romans 3:25-26; 5:6-8; 2 Corinthians 5:14, 21; Philippians 2:5-8; 1 Timothy 2:5-6; Hebrews 4:15; 7:25; 10:5-14; 1 Peter 3:18; 1 John 2:1-2.

In the Spiritual Lostness of Mankind and in Salvation by Faith Alone in Christ Alone . . . Man was created in the image of God to enjoy a personal relationship with him, but man sinned and thereby fell under God’s judgment—spiritually in alienation from God and physically in death. All mankind has inherited this sinful state and nature, and we are totally unable on our own merit to gain salvation or to regain our former position. God’s answer for mankind is Jesus. The remedy is entirely God’s grace through one’s personal trust (faith alone) in what Jesus (Christ alone) completed for him/her on the cross.

Genesis 1:26-27; 6:5; Psalms 14:1-3; 51:5; Isaiah 64:6; Jeremiah 17:9; John 3:6; 5:40; 6:35; Romans 3:10-19; 5:12; 8:6-7; Ephesians 2:1-3; 1 Timothy 5:6; 1 John 3:6; 5:40; 6:35; Romans 3:10-19; 5:12; 8:6-7; Ephesians 2:1-3; 1 Timothy 5:6; 1 John 3:8; Leviticus 17:11; Matthew 26:28; John 3:7-18; Romans 3:20, 22-26; 5:9; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Galatians 3:3; 6:15; Ephesians 1:7; 2:4-10; Philippians 3:4-9; Titus 3:5; James 1:18; 1 Peter 1:18-19, 23.

In the Physical Return of Jesus . . . In the personal, imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Zechariah 14:4-5; 1 Thessalonians 1:10; Revelation 19:11-16.
